Redact Guard sits in the menu bar and checks every new screenshot and every image you copy. When it finds something sensitive, it covers it right away, so the file and the clipboard are already clean before you paste them into Slack, a GitHub issue or an AI chat.

Watches your screenshot folder, Downloads and any folder you choose.
Covers ⌃⇧⌘4 captures and images copied from other apps, which never touch the disk.
Recognizes 35+ kinds of secrets out of the box: API keys from OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS, Stripe, GitHub and others, private keys, database URLs, .env values, card numbers, IBANs, emails and phone numbers.
Custom rules in plain words, like "starts with cus_" or "looks like CUS-004213", or regular expressions.
Four styles: Solid, Erase, Blur and Mosaic. Every style fills the secret with a solid box first, and Blur and Mosaic are drawn from made-up text, so nothing can be un-blurred.
A Journal keeps the original for 24 hours, so any redaction can be undone or changed later.
Live Text in previews: select text to always hide it, or never hide it again.
Text recognition runs on your Mac. Screenshots are never uploaded, and there is no account.
